As the temperatures rise, it becomes even more important to stay hydrated. During the summer months we tend to spend more time outdoors, whether it’s camping, hiking, family bike rides, walking, hanging at the beach, whatever activity you enjoy doing over the summer we can help you with some great tips on how to keep yourself hydrated during these hot summer months!

Eat more water-filled foods – Watermelon contains more than 90% water and makes for a tasty and refreshing way to keep you hydrated.

Ditch the soda – Try swapping your soda for sparkling water. Sparkling water is a healthier alternative and still fizzy just like soda.

Hydrate before a workout – If you know you are going to be working out or doing some form of increased physical activity it is important to drink water before hand, not just during.

Keep hydrated at the office – Even if you are indoors all day it is still important to keep fluids handy, bring a water bottle to work with you.

Drink water before meals – drinking water before meals will not only help you stay hydrated but it will also help you control overeating.

Keep a water bottle handy – Have a reusable water bottle at all times is the easiest way to stay hydrated.

Keep track of what you are drinking – It is one thing to carry around a water bottle, but if you are not drinking it you are not benefiting yourself. Jot down how much water you are drinking and take a look at it at the end of the day. Are you drinking enough water? The general rule is 8-9 cups a day, but you may drink more on those really hot days.
